The climate of Dodoma (Tanzania)
Dodoma has been the capital of Tanzania since 1973. Prior to this Dar es Salaam was the capital which is still the largest and economically the most important city in the country. Dodoma is centrally located in Tanzania on the Masai steppe at an altitude of 1,120 meters. It is also the capital of the Dodoma region.
Dodoma has a warm steppe climate. During the winter average daytime temperatures are 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 degrees Fahrenheit). During the first months of summer average daytime temperatures are 31 degrees Celsius (87.8 degrees Fahrenheit) . Dodoma has a rainy season from the second part of November till the second part of April. Dodoma gets 570 millimeters of annual precipitation on average. All of which falls in the form of rain.
