The climate of Kigoma (Tanzania)
Kigoma is a city located in the western part of Tanzania in the vicinity of the border with Burundi. Kigoma is located on Lake Tanganyika, which is one of the deepest lakes in the world. Across the lake the Democratic Republic Congo is situated. Kigoma is located in the Kigoma province of which it also is the capital. Kigoma is an ideal starting point for visiting Gomble Stream National Park and Mahale Mountains National Park. Kigoma has a tropical savannah climate with a distinct dry and a distinct wet period. Daytime temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees Fahrenheit) all year round. Nights are much cooler, during the night temperatures are around 20 degrees Celsius (68.0 degrees Fahrenheit). The rainy period is from November till April.
