The climate of Huntsville (Alabama - United States of America)
Huntsville is a large city located in the northern part of Alabama in the vicinity of the border with the state of Tennessee. Huntsville is located on the banks of the Tennessee River. The city is also known as “Rocket City’. This is because both the Marshall Space Flight Center and the US Army Aviation and Missile Command can be found here. In the Rocket Park of the US Space and Rocket Center you can admire several older models.
Huntsville has a warm maritime climate with pleasantly warm summer and cool winters. Precipitation figures are high and precipitation is evenly spread out over the year. Winters may be cold, subzero temperatures are not uncommon. Huntsville is located on Tornado Alley which runs through the central eastern part of America. The city is located in a red zone which means the risk of a tornado is high.
