The climate of Montgomery (Alabama - United States of America)
Montgomery is the capital of Alabama and has the second highest population figure of all the cities in Alabama. Montgomery is situated on the banks of the Alabama River. Because of the presence of Maxwell Air Force Base the number of service personnel that live here is high.
Montgomery has a warm maritime climate type Cfa according to the Köppen climate classification. Montgomery has warm and wet summers and mild winters with the occasional cold day. About 1,300 millimeters of annual precipitation can be recorded here. Almost all precipitation falls in the form of rain. During spring and fall there may be large differences in temperatures within 24 hours. About 120 days per year tropical temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees Fahrenheit) or more can be recorded. This means that Montgomery ranks as one of the warmest capitals of North America.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
