The climate of Hollywood (California
- United States of America)
Hollywood is located in the state of California in the Los Angeles
metropolitan area. Hollywood merged with Los Angeles but is not a part
of the city. Hollywood is known for its film industry. Almost every
big production was filmed here. The Hollywood sign in the hills is
almost as famous as the city itself. The Hollywood walk of fame is
also a main attraction. Even the street names sound familiar such as
Mulholland Drive and Melrose Avenue. Because Hollywood merged into
both Los Angeles and Beverly Hills these cities have practically the
same climate. Hollywood has a Mediterranean climate. The climate can
almost be classified as a warm Mediterranean climate. However,
precipitation figures are slightly too high to be classified as such.
Hollywood is very sunny with 320 sunny days per year and only 40 days
with precipitation per year. From May till October it is warm to hot
and dry here. From November till April it is mild and rainy. Just like
in other regions in California Hollywood is often shrouded in mist,
especially during the morning. However, the climate can be referred to
as pleasantly mild.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
