The climate of San Diego (California - United States of America)
San Diego is located on the west coast of California in San Diego County. San Diego is one of the five richest cities in America. Many large museums can be found here, the most important ones can all be found in Balboa Park. San Diego also has a rich sports culture. Almost every sport you can think of is practiced at the highest level in San Diego. San Diego is known as a skate and surf city. Many tourists travel here to visit one of the animal parks or amusement parks such as Sea world and Lego land. According to the Köppen climate classification the northern part of San Diego has a Mediterranean climate. The southern and eastern parts have a warm steppe climate. The climate of San Diego is characterized by warm, dry summers and mild winters. Most precipitation falls from November till March. Just like in many regions in California San Diego has several micro climates. This is caused by its location on a bay and the many hills, mountains and cliffs that can be found in this region. Cloudy skies keep the air cool and humid on the coast and will not release their rain until it has traveled a few miles into the interior.
