The climate of Fort Wayne (Indiana - United States of America)
Fort Wayne is a large city located in the northeastern part of Indiana in the vicinity of the borders with the states of Ohio and Michigan. Fort Wayne is located on the spot where the St Joseph River and the St Mary’s River flow into the Maumee River. The Maumee River eventually flows into Lake Erie. Fort Wayne was built at the end of the 18th century in honor of General “Mad” Anthony Wayne.
Fort Wayne has a warm continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. During the winter it may be extremely cold during the night. Temperatures of -10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) or even lower are not uncommon. During the coldest winter months precipitation mainly falls in the form of snow. Summers are warm. However, during the evening temperatures rapidly drop.
