The climate of Garden City (Kansas - United States of America)
Garden City is a small city located in the southwestern part of Kansas in Finney County. The city was founded at the end of the 19th century. Garden City flourished because the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad has an interchange station here. Nowadays the main source of income is agriculture. Mainly grain and wheat are cultivated here. Many grain warehouses can be found in the city. Garden City has a warm steppe climate with warm to hot and wet summers and cold winters. During the hottest days of the year temperatures may rise above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit). Garden City is located in Tornado Alley. During Tornado season there is a risk of tornadoes here.
