The climate of Cambridge (Massachusetts - United States of America)
Cambridge is a university city located in the urban area of Boston on the banks of the Charles River. The world famous Harvard University can be found in Cambridge as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. These universities are the main source of income for the city. They also take up much space in the city. Cambridge is connected with Boston via several bridges over the Charles River.
According to the Köppen climate classification Cambridge has a warm continental climate with warm to hot summers and cold winters in which subzero temperatures are not uncommon, especially during the night and early morning. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year. During the winter precipitation may fall in the form of snow. Snowstorms from sea may cause a lot of inconvenience.
