The climate of Springfield (Massachusetts

Springfield is located in the southeastern part of the state in the
vicinity of the border with the state of Connecticut. Springfield is
mainly known because of the Simpsons, but the Springfield in that
series is a mid-sized town in an undetermined state of the United
States. Springfield, MA, is seen as the birthplace of basketball.
James Naismith who lived in this city invented this popular game. The
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame can be found in the city.
This building has the shape of a basketball. Just like most regions in
the interior of New England Springfield has a wet continental climate
with four distinct seasons. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out
over the year. Winters are cold. In January the average temperature is
