The climate of Columbia (Missouri

Columbia is a large city centrally located in Missouri in the vicinity
of the Missouri River. The city is located on several tributaries of
the Missouri River. In Columbia the University of Missouri, Columbia
College and Stephens College can be found. The city has its own
airport, the nearby city of Port of Rocheport has a natural harbor on
the Missouri River.
Columbia has a warm continental climate with four distinct seasons.
Winters are fairly cold. During the winter temperatures hardly rise
above freezing point. Summers are warm. Temperatures above 30 degrees
Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) are not uncommon. Precipitation is
quite evenly spread out over the year with a peak during spring.
