The climate of Carson City (Nevada - United States of America)
Carson City is located in the northwestern part of the state of Nevada at the foot of the Sierra Nevada. Carson City was founded at the end of the 19th century when there was a lot of mining industry here. Mainly silver was found here. Many outdoor activities can be undertaken here, this attracts lots of tourists every year. Carson City is located in the vicinity of Lake Tahoe State Park and Lake Washoe State Park.
Carson City has a Mediterranean climate with very low precipitation figures. In fact, precipitation figures are only just high enough to classify the climate as Mediterranean. The climate of Carson City is influenced by its location at an altitude of 1,440 meters in a river bed. Because of this snowfall is not uncommon during the winter. Most precipitation falls during the winter and early spring. The highest temperature on record is 40.6 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit), the lowest temperature on record is -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit).
