The climate of Greensboro (North Carolina - United States of America)
Greensboro is the largest city in Guilford County and is the administrative center of this county, the city was also founded as such. The city was planned and constructed around the old court. Greensboro played an important role in the civil rights movement. The first sit-in actions where black people used so called ‘white seats’ where held here.
Greensboro has a warm maritime climate. There are only few differences in temperatures between summer and winter. Winters are cool. In December, January and February subzero temperatures can be recorded. Summers are warm. However, temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) are uncommon. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year. Precipitation figures are high all year round. During spring and summer tornadoes may form here. These heavy storms cause damage in this region on a regular basis.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
