The climate of Winston-Salem (North Carolina

Winston-Salem is located in the vicinity of Greensboro. Winston and
Salem were founded separately. Winston was founded by a bishop and
Salem was founded by an adventurer. The cities merged when the
government decided to merge both post offices. Winston-Salem
flourished because of the tobacco industry. The cultivation and
production of several famous brands took place here. The city has a
very rich history. Winston-Salem is also known as the City of Arts. It
was the first city in the United States that created an arts council.
The city has its own opera, symphony orchestra and several different
educational institutes for arts.
Winston-Salem has a warm maritime climate with high precipitation
figures all year round. During the summer heavy storms and even
tornadoes may occur. Summers are pleasantly warm, winters are cool.
However, extremely low temperatures are uncommon.
