The climate of Dickinson (North Dakota
- United States of America)
Dickinson is a small city located in the southeastern part of
the state of North Dakota in Stark County. Just outside the city The
Maah Daah Hey Trail can be found. On this trail you can go mountain
biking, horseback riding, hiking and mountaineering. The total length
of the path is more than 150 kilometers. In the city the Dickinson
Museum Center and the Dakota Dinosaur Museum can be found. Dickinson
has a moderate continental climate with cold and dry winters and short
but warm summers. During the winter most precipitation falls in the
form of sleet or snow. The frosty period is longer here than in other
parts of the state. However, it doesn’t get as cold here. Dickinson is
located in Tornado Alley so there is a risk of tornadoes.
