The climate of State College (Pennsylvania

State College is a medium sized city centrally located in the state of
Pennsylvania. State College is located in Centre County and is a real
university city. Pennsylvania State University can be found in the
city. About 8,000 students attend this university which is about 20%
of the total population figure. The city was founded during the second
part of the 19th century as the Farmers’ High School of Pennsylvania.
The city is also known as Happy Valley. State College has a warm
continental climate with four distinct seasons. Winters are long and
longer periods with subzero temperatures (during the night) are not
uncommon. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year.
During the winter precipitation may fall in the form of snow or sleet.
Summers are pleasantly warm with temperatures just below 30 degrees
Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
