Jackson is located in the western part of Tennessee in Madison County.
Jackson is located on the banks of the Forked Deer River. The city was
named after the 7th president of the United States, Andrew Jackson.
Carl Lee Perkins lived in Jackson. This songwriter wrote several hits
such as ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ which was performed by Elvis Presley.
Jackson has a warm Mediterranean climate characterized by long, cold
winters and warm but short summers. During the winter longer periods
with subzero temperatures during the night are not uncommon.
