The climate of Huntington (West Virginia - United States of America)
Huntington is located in the western part of the state of West Virginia in the vicinity of the border with the state of Ohio. Huntington is located on the banks of the Ohio River. The Marshall University which has a large influence on daily life is situated in Charleston. In the 1970s an airplane with the American Football team of this university, its coaches and many supporters crashed.
Huntington has a warm continental climate with four distinct seasons. There are large differences in temperatures between summer and winter. During the summer temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) are not uncommon while subzero temperatures during the winter are not uncommon. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year.
