The climate of Morgantown (West Virginia - United States of America)
Morgantown is located in the northern part of the state of West Virginia on the banks of the Monongahela River. The city is located in the vicinity of the border with the state of Pennsylvania. The city is known for its unique public transport system: Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit which connects several West Virginia University campuses with the city center. Population figures in Morgantown more than doubled due to the presence of the university.
Morgantown has a warm continental climate with four distinct seasons. There are large differences in temperatures between the seasons. During the winter subzero temperatures and snowstorms are not uncommon. During the summer it may be sunny and warm. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year with February as the driest month.
