The climate of Kassel (Germany)
Kassel is a large city located in the federal state of Hesse. The city has a central function in the region. Kassel has no cosy streets nor charming shops and only few attractions. However, WilhelmsHöher Park which is situated just outside the city is well worth visiting. The park was built in the romantic style, during the time in which the park was built people tried to copy nature. The highlight of the park is an enormous waterfall which cascades down the hill in various stages a. Once every five years the Documenta exhibition is held, a must-see for modern art lovers. Works and installations from all over the world can be admired during this exhibition. The surroundings of Kassel are very beautiful and ideal for mountain biking and hiking. Kassel has a moderate maritime climate with small differences in temperatures between summer and winter. Precipitation figures are highest during spring. However, precipitation figures may also be fairly high during the summer. Because warm air is suddenly forced to rise against the mountains thunderstorms may form.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather, extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate information for each month of the year:
